ABOUT
The main aim of the project is Media literacy and tackling disinformation. It is aimed to minimize the undesirable behaviors originating from social media, which can negatively affect the learning environment in schools and all other education-teaching processes. A new understanding that balances knowledge and skills, takes into account the student's own life and individual differences, and allows healthy interaction with the environment, has been tried to be implemented.
Main objectives:
To contribute to the growth of students as healthy and happy individuals by eliminating the physical and emotional problems caused by social media in students.
To encourage students to make observations, and to look at their environment with constructive criticism.
To prioritize the realization of learning by ensuring the development of knowledge, skills and values.
To help students develop spiritually, morally, socially and culturally, and artistically.
To enable students to stay away from social media and participate in social life more actively and constructively.
To contribute to raising awareness that is sensitive to the environment one lives in, who knows his country's problems and who will think about what he sees in the media. Reducing the time students spend on social media.
To raise awareness about the Conscious Use of Technology and to ensure its continuity-Informing students about social media practices that negatively affect students and cause them to exhibit disturbing behaviors and try to raise awareness about this issue.
To ensure that the media literacy course is popularized as an elective course within the school. Developing empathy so that peers exposed to negative behaviors can understand how they feel.
To enable students to devote the time they spend on social media to more effective and creative activities.
To enable students to develop their creative thinking, creative connections, creative art skills, and creative writing skills.
Learning from our differences and interacting using a common language by supporting intercultural communication.
The results and products of the project are closely related to the goal.
Our workshops will examine the impact of trolling on personal well-being and identify strategies to avoid engaging in anti-social online behavior. Students will create slogans and e-brochures to share them on the social media accounts used by the participants and in the project, allowing the realization of learning that enables the development of knowledge, skills and values. Write a short poem/short story and the results will be collected in an e-book and shared on eTwinning/websites. Participants realize the benefits and disadvantages of face-to-face and online socialization and the dangers of social media will create promotional materials (posters, presentations, films). They'll create a drama on internet security, they will create online tests, Kahoot, Wordwall, others. Local media expert will be interviewed about the information appearing online
